Teen Fashion & Sewing Camps: Make Your Own Clothes from Scratch

Welcome to our Fashion Summer Camps, a vibrant space where young designers dive into the exciting world of fashion design. Whether your child is a budding trendsetter or simply loves getting creative, our camps offer an unforgettable experience that blends imagination, hands-on learning, and self-expression.

Each summer, we introduce fresh themes inspired by pop culture, global fashion movements, and timeless design techniques. From cowboy-core to cottagecore, streetwear to vintage glam, every year brings a new opportunity to explore, create, and shine.

This course has been designed for teenagers that are interested in studying fashion design and garment construction. Whether you consider yourself a complete beginner or if you are studying art at school in preparation for college, this course will give you creative freedom and control to bring your designs to life under the guidance of highly skilled tutors who will walk you through the full design and construction process.

You will develop your creative confidence while working on design research, working with colour and fabric, while also developing your technical skills through tutor-led practical garment construction classes.

Students will create their own design development sketchbook to visualise the process as it unfolds, they will style and model their own design in a photoshoot at the end of term before showcasing their work at our teenage exhibition night.

This promises to be an exciting and unique experience for any 13 to 17 year old who:

  • Has an interest in colour, fabric and drawing
  • Interested in developing their own creativity
  • Building a portfolio for future studies
  • Interested in studying art in the third level
  • Wishing to develop their skills in communicating ideas

Fashion Camp

A blast from the past coming back to the future? Believe it or not, the new millenium fashion is the current vintage craze. That’s right parents, the clothes that you grew up with are making their return with current generations modernising these classic looks!

The rise of the baggy pants are what’s hot, the bigger the better! These cool yet comfy statement pieces are bound to make people holler. Customise these juicy pieces of couture to be uniquely yours, whether it’s with rhinestones or studs, it’s your chance to make Y2K your own y2-slay.

During the camp, each young designer will have the exciting opportunity to design and sew their very own garment completely from scratch. From sketching their idea to choosing fabrics, cutting patterns, and stitching it all together, they’ll experience the full creative process of bringing a fashion piece to life. To finish off the week, they’ll get to walk the runway and display their finished creations in a fun end-of-camp fashion show! Afterwards, every participant will proudly take home their handmade garment, showcasing their creativity and brand-new skills.

Fashion Camp

Ready, set, sparkle! Get ready to ace your style game, because the hottest trend hitting the runways right now is athletic-chic couture! We are bringing ultimate All-Star energy to camp, transforming sporty staples into glamorous, everyday looks. These cool, statement pieces are bound to turn heads. You’ll get to customise your look to be uniquely yours, whether you want to bedazzle it with rhinestones, add cute ribbon lace-ups, or stitch on glamorous chenille patches, it’s your chance to make activewear a spectacular.

Young designers will design and sew their very own looks completely from scratch. They will choose to create either a stylish Jersey top or a trendy Jersey dress or even a pair baggy trousers, PLUS they will get to upcycle a pair of old jeans that fits them into either a pair of shorts or a skirt or a bag!

From sketching their champion aesthetic to choosing fabrics, cutting patterns, and stitching it all together, they’ll experience the full creative process. Let’s celebrate multicultural Ireland: choose your country’s colours and wear them with pride on the catwalk on the last day in a high-energy fashion show, before proudly taking home your handmade garments to showcase your creativity and brand-new skills!

Our sewing classes cater to all skill levels, from complete beginners to advanced sewers. Whether you’re just starting or looking to refine your techniques, we have a class for you.

In our beginner classes, you will learn essential sewing techniques such as threading a sewing machine, basic stitches, reading patterns, and completing simple projects.

Advanced classes cover complex techniques, including garment construction, advanced pattern reading, tailoring, and professional finishing techniques. You’ll work on projects like dresses, jackets, and tailored pants.

We provide all the necessary sewing machines and basic materials for practice. For specific projects, you may need to bring or purchase your own fabrics and materials, which will be listed in the class description.

Our workshop’s duration is 2 hours. We have a variety of courses throughout the week. Please check our current class schedule for specific details.

No prior experience is needed for our beginner classes. These classes are designed to help you build a solid foundation in sewing from scratch.
