This Party Dress is a classic design with a scoop neck bodice and a circular skirt. It can be made with or without sleeves and decorated with trims, ribbons, gemstones etc. We encourage our students to think like a designer, sketch your designs and include fabric swatches to go with it.
Delicate fabrics are recommended when making this garment. woven satin, lace, sequins, taffeta or other festive fabrics.
The fabrics – and other trims – yardage calculation is estimated as a recommended average consumption. If the student chooses to make their project in a larger scale, long skirt instead of short or with sleeves, please purchase a larger amount of the relevant supplies.
Fabric width: 150 cm:
7-8 Fabric = 2-3 Metres, Interfacing = 0.5 Metres.
8-10 Fabric = 2-3 Metres, Interfacing = 0.5 Metres.
10-12 Fabric = 2.5 – 3.5 Metres, Interfacing = 0.5 Metres.
12-14 Fabric = 3-4 Metres, Interfacing = 0.5 Metres.
14-16 Fabric = 3-4 Metres, Interfacing = 0.5 Metres.
Small (Adult Size) Fabric = 3-4 Metres, Interfacing = 0.5 Metres.
Medium (Adult Size) Fabric = 3.5 – 4.5 Metres, Interfacing = 0.5 Metres.
Large (Adult Size) Fabric = 3.5 -4.5 Metres, Interfacing = 0.5 Metres.
